I post photographs to iNaturalist regularly, and today they featured my photograph of three organisms (partridgeberry, coral fungus, and Indian pipe) packed together next to a rotting log. I thought I’d post here to extend my 15 seconds of fame.
But I’m also sharing on my blog in case somebody can identify the fungus. I think it’s a Ramaria. Here’s the observation in case you’d like to weigh in. Here’s a close-up:
Platte Clove Preserve, Elka Park, NY.
If you’re interested, location was Platte Clove Preserve in Elka Park, NY. It’s an amazing natural area and there’s a coffeeshop nearby (Twin Peaks Coffee & Donuts) that makes donuts fresh when you order them. Damn good coffee, too.
