Hurricane Irene hits Swarthmore

It didn’t hit as a rated hurricane, so we were very, very lucky. But we still had flooding, power loses, and assorted carnage. Photos below.

Storm drain before Irene

Local storm drain as of 5pm EST, August 27, 2011. August had almost broken a precipitation record before Irene was even conceived, so everything is saturated. It’s not going to be pretty.
